Kaitlyn Mae Bespoke designs custom wedding dresses and bridal wear for the modern bride and is exclusively available at Silk Row Bridal.

Often our brides come to us having been to multiple bridal shops and trying on a number of wedding dresses and are still struggling to find 'The One'.  They loved elements of different dresses but can't find all of those details in one dress. These are the brides Kaitlyn Mae Bespoke was founded for.

The Kaitlyn Mae aesthetic focusses on structure, clean design lines & edgy details.  Mixing streetwear elements with the luxe nature of bridal wear gives Kaitlyn Mae Bespoke wedding dresses their signature look.

Designed and constructed in-house by Kaitlyn herself using her expertise and the vision of our clients, every bespoke piece is truly unique to each bride.  Built from the ground up, specially for you!

The Designer

Each custom piece is designed and expertly constructed in-house by designer, Kaitlyn.  Kaitlyn has 13 years of design and seamstress experience, studying at a private fashion college for 3 years, honing her skills in pattern drafting, garment construction and couture techniques.

While living in London England and working under a well known accessories designer, Kaitlyn felt that the bridal industry back home in Toronto needed to be shaken up, thus building Silk Row Bridal and namesake label Kaitlyn Mae Bespoke.

With a commitment to creating one-of-a-kind wedding dresses that capture the essence of each bride's individuality. Our design philosophy revolves around celebrating love stories through unconventional styles, unexpected fabrics, and avant-garde silhouettes.

In the evolving landscape of the wedding industry, custom wedding dresses are becoming more accessible than ever, offering brides the opportunity to truly embody their individual style and vision for their special day. Contrary to popular belief, opting for a custom gown is not exclusive to those with extravagant budgets.

We’re not in the business of settling, especially when it comes to your wedding attire and we can’t wait to bring your dream vision to life.

The Process

The process of making a custom wedding dress is a collaborative journey between the bride and the designer, resulting in a one-of-a-kind piece that perfectly suits the bride's personal style and vision.

Below is a breakdown of the custom design process and how we confidently achieve your dream wedding dress.

Consultation

The consultation is a crucial and exciting step in the process of creating a custom wedding gown that perfectly aligns with a bride's vision and preferences.

During our initial consultation we will share inspiration and have an open discussion about your must-have elements, possible fabric options, budget and timeline. As well as go over the general process of creating a custom wedding dress.

If you feel the custom route is right for you, then we will also go over the custom design agreement and take your measurements.

Concept & Sketches

Based on the discussions from our initial consultation, Kaitlyn will create a number of sketches. These sketches help us visualize the proposed design and serve as a starting point for further refinement.

At this point in the process, we can mix and match, add or take away any elements from the initial round of sketches to get the vision just right. Once decided upon, a final sketch will be provided and this will be the basis of the next steps of pattern drafting and mock ups for fittings.

Now that we have our design finalized, a quote will be given along with a deposit to be paid to officially start the journey to becoming a Kaitlyn Mae Bespoke Bride!

Fittings

Every custom wedding garment we create is uniquely built for each bride based off our sketch and the brides body measurements.

From this, we have created a pattern that we then produce our first mock fitting. Our first and sometimes second fittings will be done in a fabric called muslin, this is an un-bleached cotton fabric that allows us to fit the garment perfectly to your body and make any adjustments and mark ups during these fittings. We start the fitting process this way to ensure that when we purchase and start cutting your garment in your desired fabric, we have the best fit possible to minimize any adjustments in the following fittings.

As we move through the fitting process, you will see your gown evolve and come to life before your eyes! From mock-ups to layers of fabric to finishing details. This is one reason that makes a custom gown so special, you are truly part of the process from start to finish.

Fabric Selection

Fabric is, of course, a pivotal element in creating a unique custom garment. In our initial consultation we will have discussed all of our fabric options based on your inspiration and the designers expertise. In our first fitting, fabric samples will be provided to discuss and ultimately decide on what we will be moving forward with to create your custom wedding gown!

In an effort to create a truly custom experience, we purchase fabric based on each individual clients desires, so not to create a look too similar to a past Kaitlyn Mae Bespoke Bride.

Finishing Touches & Delivery

During our final fittings, you will try on your nearly completed dress. This allows the for any last-minute adjustments and ensures that the dress meets your expectations in terms of fit and style.

Once the final fittings are complete and both you, the bride and Kaitlyn, the designer, are satisfied the final details are completed and your custom gown is ready for pick up.

Typically our timeline allows us to work up to 3-5 weeks from your wedding date, ensuring every detail is perfect. In our final fittings we will determine a pick up date! We will provide you with care instructions for your custom gown and you will be all set for your big day!

Pricing

The pricing for a custom made wedding dress can vary widely depending on several factors including, materials used, intricacy of the design, and timeline.

It’s important to keep in mind when considering a custom wedding dress that this piece is built specially for you. It is designed around your measurements and the fitting process allows for the perfect fit, meaning no alterations are needed once your gown is complete. Bridal alterations can range anywhere from $500 - $1200+, this should be factored into your budget when considering the custom design route!
